The Director of Elections and Information Technology (IT) for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, says the party was determined to protect every parliamentary seat in the recently concluded general elections.

According to him, the NDC experienced marginalization in the 2020 elections, and as a result, the party entered this year's polls with that experience in mind to protect its parliamentary seats. "We have come too far and were determined to protect every single seat because of our previous experience," he said.

He claimed that the NDC was cheated in the 2020 general elections, which led to Ghana having a hung parliament.

He alleged that the NPP collaborated with the Electoral Commission (EC) during that election and protected seats in favour of the NPP. "In 2020, the parliament was not a hung parliament; the parliament that Ghanaians voted for was altered by the NPP through manipulation and collaboration with the EC and security agencies, which led to the deaths of eight people and the loss of seats," he alleged.
