In a historic announcement made a few minutes ago, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, officially declared former President John Dramani Mahama as the winner of the 2024 Presidential Elections.

According to the Electoral Commission's figures, Mahama secured a decisive 56.55% of the valid votes cast, cementing his comeback to lead Ghana once more.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the candidate for the ruling party, garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61% of the total votes cast.

While the announcement marks a significant turning point in Ghana's political landscape, the Electoral Commission (EC) revealed that results from nine constituencies are yet to be received.
