By gaining 50,886 out of the total valid votes, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor affectionately called 'The Woman' by her supporters has snatched the Awutu Senya East (Kasoa) parliamentary seat from the NPP's Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Hawa Koomson secured 38,942 votes from Saturday's parliamentary elections bringing to an end her 12-year 'dynasty.' Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor first showed up in the 2020 elections but lost with some 5,000 votes difference.

After a successful campaign in the NDC's internal elections held last year, she has proceeded to snatch the seat with an overwhelming margin.

She has pledged to offer unceasing job opportunities for the youth in the Kasoa area, tackle infrastructural problems while creating a more tranquil atmosphere.
