In an interview with Joy News, the outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, KT Hammond, expressed his thoughts on his recent defeat in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Despite his long-standing service to the constituency, Hammond, who has represented Adansi Asokwa since 2001, found himself ousted by National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Animli Dorgbadzi Dorani.

Reflecting on his loss, Hammond, who garnered 13,229 votes, noted, "There were places that I had done so much that when I went round to campaign, they told me that they would thank me with their vote.

I now think what they said was an irony." His words captured the surprise and disappointment he felt after his defeat, as he had expected the support of his efforts to be reflected in the voting results.
