The Western Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Okatakyie Amankwaa Afrifa, has identified poor road networks as a key factor contributing to the party's dismal performance in the Western Region during the 2024 general elections.
In an exclusive interview with Richard Sky on Citi FM on Sunday, December 8, Okatakyie Afrifa revealed that the NPP managed to secure only two parliamentary seats in the entire region, a significant drop from previous years.
He attributed this loss to the government's delay in addressing the deplorable state of roads in several areas, which he believes influenced voter decisions.
Afrifa highlighted specific areas such as Mporhu, Kweikuma, Bogoso, and Prestea as examples of communities where poor road conditions had a negative impact on voter sentiment and turnout.
