The Electoral Commission (EC) has said 95% of polling stations across the nation closed polls exactly 5pm during the December 7 elections.

Th Commission noted that per reports it received, voter turnout were massive and each voter spent less than three minutes to cast his or her ballot.

Addressing the media after polls were closed, Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Benjamin Bano-Bioh stated that this year's election has been "peaceful" and the usual congestion at the polling stations were reduced drastically due to the division of polling stations to enhance the process.

He noted that party agents have also been cooperative throughout the electoral process. "Our staff we appreciate them for the show of high level of professionalism," he said.
