The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama to intervene and ensure his supporters and the NDC uphold peace and order following Ghana's 2024 general elections.
The NPP has alleged that elements within the NDC are instigating unrest in constituencies where the NPP claims to have won, but the results are being contested by their opponents.
At a press conference held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the NPP's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, expressed concerns about what the party described as "disruptive actions" by some NDC members in parts of the country. "We are calling on President-elect Mahama to exercise leadership by ensuring his supporters respect the democratic process and maintain calm.
These actions threaten to undermine the peace and stability of our nation," Kodua stated.
