Faustina Elikplim Akurugu has made history as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate by winning the Dome Kwabenya constituency, a seat that has long been dominated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Her victory marks the first time the NDC has captured this constituency, breaking the NPP's stronghold in the area.
Akurugu secured 51,634 votes, narrowly defeating the NPP's Mike Oquaye Jr., who received 50,477 votes.
