Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central, Ebenezer Akuoko-Frimpong, has urged President to launch an investigation into the violent incidents during the 2020 general elections, which resulted in the deaths of eight people, including three minors. Speaking on the matter in an interview on Oyerepa TV on August 14, 2024, Akuoko-Frimpong emphasized the importance of justice for the victims and stressed that failing to address the issue could tarnish the president's legacy as the commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces. He urged the president to take action against those responsible. "The president, as commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, must ensure that the perpetrators of these killings are brought to justice. Otherwise, it will be a blot on his record when he leaves office," Akuoko-Frimpong said. The DCE called on journalists and peace advocacy groups to apply pressure on the president to take action.
