Two military officers have reportedly been attacked at a polling station in the Obuasi East constituency during Ghana's 2024 general elections.
According to eyewitness reports, the incident unfolded when fully armed soldiers arrived at the polling centre, despite prior assurances from the Ghana Armed Forces that no military personnel would be deployed to polling stations.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Officer present reportedly demanded their immediate departure, warning that failure to comply would result in them being reported to the police.
Tensions escalated when the soldiers reportedly resisted the request, leading to a physical confrontation between them and the NDC official.
