The (NDC) Parliamentary candidate, who was the incumbent MP for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa constituency, Alhassan Ghansah was victorious in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
He polled a total of 25,244 votes, leading his closest contender, Winifred Abaidoo-Ayen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 22,498 votes.
Precious Mawolorm Amevour of the Ghana Union Movement received 265 votes.
In the presidential election, John Dramani Mahama of the polled 25,145 votes, followed by Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party with 20,145 votes.
