The Electoral Commission (EC) has called on the Ghana Police Service to deploy its personnel to the numerous constituency collation centres to drive away party supporters.  The call was made by the Deputy Chairperson of the EC in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, at a press conference in the early hours of December 8. 3news correspondents across the country have reported that huge numbers of supporters of both parties have thronged various constituency collation centres in anticipation of the declaration of the certified results.

According to Mr Tettey, the presence of the supporters at the collation centres is impeding the collation process.

Mr Tettey therefore called on the Police to assist in ridding the collation centres of the supporters. "The Police must step in," he requested.

The Deputy EC Chairperson also "urged the political parties to withdraw their supporters immediately.
