The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson , popularly known as "General Mosquito," has urged the National Peace Council and other key stakeholders to engage the (EC) to expedite the declaration of election results, emphasizing the need for accuracy and transparency to maintain peace and uphold the integrity of Ghana's democratic process.

Ahead of the December 7 elections, the National Peace Council facilitated the signing of a peace pact by the two leading political parties to ensure a peaceful electoral process.

Although the NDC raised concerns about the council's neutrality, claiming the initiative lacked an inclusive and balanced approach for fair engagement, NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama signed the pact.

This proved his party's commitment to Ghana's democratic principles.
