Andy Appiah-Kubi, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, has announced his decision to retire from active politics following his defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, the outgoing MP confirmed that he will not seek a return to parliament or political life.

Provisional results from the election indicate that Appiah-Kubi polled 8,933 votes, far behind the winner, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, who secured 26,926 votes.

The NDC's candidate, Kofi Asamoah, garnered 2,469 votes.
