The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the National Peace Council (NPC) to urge the Electoral Commission (EC) to expedite the collation and announcement of election results.

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the NDC at a presser in Accra on Sunday expressed frustration over the delay and emphasised the need for timely communication from the EC. "We have consistently been complaining about EC's feet dragging in getting results announced.

We have not heard the national peace council or anybody in the peace industry calling the EC to fast track their duty of collating and announcing results," Nketiah stated.

Nketiah highlighted that former President Dramani Mahama has secured over 56% of the votes, based on the NDC's compilations from their copies of the EC's pink sheets across the country. "So if they have the originals and they have signed and given us copies of the originals they are holding, what prevents them from putting their totals together and announcing?" he questioned.
