In a remarkable display of statesmanship, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has conceded defeat in the 2024 general election.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, Dr Bawumia congratulated former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their decisive electoral victory while awaiting the official declaration from the Electoral Commissioner.
Dr Bawumia acknowledged the democratic choice of Ghanaians, pledging his support for a smooth transition. "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
The will of the people has prevailed, and I am committed to ensuring a seamless handing-over process," he stated.
