A tragic shooting incident has marred the general elections in the Awutu Senya East constituency of the Central Region, leaving one person dead and another critically injured.
The unfortunate event occurred on December 7, 2024, adding to the tension and violence reported in some parts of the country during the electoral process.
Reports indicate that the incident unfolded after the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, allegedly declared herself the winner of the parliamentary elections.
While she and her supporters were heading home after touring the counting exercise, unknown assailants in a V8 vehicle trailed them and opened fire.
