Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, , will retire at the end of the present Parliament in January 2025, leaving his seat in the Ashanti Region open for new parliamentary candidates.
John Darko, a Board Member of Ghana Gas Company and a private legal practitioner, emerged as the new candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the primaries after beating his closest contender, Maxwell Osei Boakye, in the January 2024 primaries.
John Darko is contesting against Frank Owusu Ansah of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mohammed Mubarak of the All Peoples Congress (APC).
Counting and sorting are currently underway in Suame Constituency after polls officially closed at 5:00 pm.
