Following the rules and regulations of his party, the (NPP) held parliamentary primaries and selected Godfred Nti Anewu as their candidate.
Anewu is facing off against Neurine Migyimah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, who previously contested the seat in the 2020 elections and lost to with 14,747 votes.
As of December 7, 2024, polls have closed in Assin Central and counting and sorting are currently underway to determine the new parliamentary representative for the constituency.
