A known staunch supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fired a gun at the Bonia Polling Station in Navrongo during ongoing voting activities.
The reason for the gunfire remains unclear, but the incident caused a temporary halt in proceedings as frightened individuals sought cover, and election officers considered abandoning their duties due to fear.
The police responded swiftly, arresting the gun-firing political activist and taking him to the police station, where he is currently assisting with investigations.
Despite this incident, voting in the Navrongo Central Constituency has remained largely peaceful.
