An attempt by the 's parliamentary candidate for Adentan Constituency, Akosua Manu, to question the viability of John Dramani Mahama's 24-hour economy promise has been met with vile attacks by some members and supporters of the , including prominent member Yayra Koku. Akosua Manu, in a social media post, suggested that the 24-hour economy could adversely deepen the woes of Ghanaian workers as jobs and remunerations will now be staggered on a three-shift system instead of the one-shift that she believes exists in the country currently. In her view, the NDC and John Mahama were not being candid with Ghanaians about how the implementation of the policy could impoverish Ghanaian workers. "According to the umbrella gang's shift system, there are infinite possibilities when it comes to the hours you can do. They fail to add, I however believe it's intentional, what you can earn. "For example, if your salary is 1500 cedis and you now have to share with 2 others, your take-home will be how much?" she quizzed. In a strongly-worded response on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Yayra Koku chided Akosua Manu for exhibiting what she believes to be ignorance on the 24-hour economy module.
