The chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Adukwei Mensa, has assured that the Commission does not foresee any shortage of election materials and equipment in any region during the December 7 elections.
Addressing what she termed her last engagement with the media before the 2024 election day, Jean Mensa stated that the Commission has provided election materials and equipment to the regions in adequate quantities, adding, "we don't anticipate any shortage in any part of the country." According to the EC, 18,774,159 registered voters, representing 55 percent of the total population, will be participating in the December 7 elections.
Providing updates on the special voting, she said the exercise was not only successful but also recorded high voter turnout, with the lowest turnout per polling station being 83 percent.
On media accreditation, she mentioned that the Commission had provided accreditation to close to 10,000 media personnel to give them access to polling stations, constituency, and regional collation centers.
