The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has commended the Electoral Commission (EC), the Ghana Police Service, and the Election Security Taskforce for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and secure election process.
The Association further urged these institutions to remain impartial and transparent in their operations, as public trust in their roles is vital for fostering national unity and ensuring the credibility of the electoral process. "UTAG appeals to Ghanaians from all walks of life-including youth, women, traditional leaders, and civil society organizations-to rally together to protect the peace and harmony that the nation has long cherished.
Through unity, mutual respect, and a commitment to democracy, Ghana can continue to shine as a beacon of democratic excellence on the African continent," a statement issued by UTAG said ahead of the general elections on Saturday, December 7.
UTAG issued a clarion call to all citizens, political parties, and stakeholders to uphold peace, unity, and civic responsibility as the nation prepares for the general election.
