Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has lamented that the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is determined to help the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) rig tomorrow's Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
He noted, however, that their plan will be unsuccessful given that the people of Ghana are determined to vote for a change of Government. "With less than 24 hours to go, it has become obvious that the Electoral Commission is determined to aid the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the elections.
But they will fail because the people of Ghana are determined to vote for change and protect their ballots," John Mahama wrote.
He explained that the NDC's several reports of exposed validating stamps to the EC have failed to get the EC to take appropriate action against the act which is calculated to help the NPP in rigging the election. "Since Thursday night, the National Democratic Congress has reported several cases of exposed Validating Stamps to the Commission yet they have refused to issue a clear and unambiguous directive to stop their staff from disclosing the identities and details of the validating stamps ahead of tomorrow's general elections.
