The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey has assured the African Union (AU) Election Observation Team in Ghana, that adequate security such as the Election Security Task Force and logistics have been put in place to ensure peaceful elections.
He says that Ghana will go through peaceful elections to consolidate its democracy.
Mr Quartey explained that as part of measures put in place to ensure transparent and peaceful elections, several engagements have been held with political parties, the Electoral Commission and other stakeholders which have been fruitful.
The Minister also assured that His Excellency, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo is a man of peace who believes in the rule of law, came to power peacefully and will exit peacefully.
