A Senior Program Officer at EDUWATCH, Divine Kpe, has called for an urgent review of Ghana's education curriculum to meet international standards. In an interview on 3FM, divine Kpe underscored that an effective curriculum update is crucial, given that global best practices recommend revisions every five years.
"Our current curriculum has been stagnant for over a decade. Much of the content is outdated, so a review is essential to align with contemporary educational needs," Mr Kpe said on 3FM's morning show. He also highlighted significant deficiencies in school resources and criticized the major political parties for neglecting basic education.
"While our curriculum has potential, our schools are severely under-resourced. Many classrooms are in poor condition, with students sometimes sitting on the floor, which negatively impacts teaching effectiveness," he noted.
