The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr.

Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has asserted that the NPP government, under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has done more for the welfare and advancement of teachers than any administration in Ghana's Fourth Republic.

He said this when he engaged with various teacher groups in the Ashanti Region on December 3.

During the discussions, he emphasized that the welfare of teachers under the NPP government has consistently been superior to what was experienced under the Mahama administration. "The teacher in Ghana currently starts on a salary three times what they received in 2016.
