The management team of Sampson Segbedzi, the reigning undisputed Welterweight champion, has petitioned the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to take disciplinary action against Isaac Commey for unprofessional and dangerous behaviour during their bout on November 24, 2024, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The fight, which was highly anticipated, turned controversial after Commey repeatedly broke boxing rules.
Despite warnings from the referee for low blows, Commey continued his illegal actions.
The situation escalated in the fifth round when Commey intentionally headbutted Segbedzi, forcing the match to end prematurely and leaving the champion with injuries requiring medical attention. Segbedzi's management is calling for the GBA to suspend Commey and mandate his team to reimburse GHC 10,025.00 in medical expenses incurred as a result of the incident.
