The Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West constituency, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has commissioned a 30-bed capacity community hospital at Gbegbeyise in the Greater Accra region.The community hospital has facilities such as an outpatient unit, paediatric unit, maternity ward, theatre, laboratory, emergency unit, dispensary and others.The government is currently constructing a 100-bed hospital at Okweteke, Dansoman, under the Agenda 111 project.Speaking at the commissioning of the community hospital on 3rd December 2024, Owusu-Ekuful said, "If we learn any lessons from history, we know that in this country, when one government takes over from another government apart from Akufo-Addo, none of them continues the projects that they inherited; we beg you, we want to finish that 'Okweteke' hospital."But Owusu-Ekuful believes the community hospital will relieve the current pressure on the Dansoman Polyclinic.The municipal health director, Dr Amidah Rahmah, said the 30-bed capacity community hospital will improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.

She commended the MP for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for seeing to the completion of the facility.Commissioning of Renovated Dansoman Special SchoolUrsula Owusu-Ekuful also commissioned a refurbished Dansoman Special School to improve the educational needs of children with special needs.

The facilities include a staff common room, three classrooms, toilet facilities and a principal's office.Speaking at the program on 3rd December, Owusu-Ekuful said she was devastated by the initial condition of the school, especially considering the special needs of the pupils.

She said it is important that all children, regardless of their circumstances, receive quality education.The headmistress of the school, Charity Lariba Daboya, expressed gratitude for the gesture by the MP.
