A Founding Father of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has told the Electoral Commission (EC) and its leadership, particularly Madam Jean Mensa, that history stands as a testament to the critical role of the Commission in maintaining the sanctity of Ghana's democracy.

He reminded Madam Jean Mensa that she is not the first to hold this esteemed office as chair of the Commission, and will not be the last.

The legacy of this institution has always been one of fairness, transparency, and impartiality, he said. "I urge you to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted with utmost integrity and without any perception or trace of bias.

Let us remember that the trust of the people is the cornerstone of democratic governance," Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said in an opinion editorial titled "Safeguarding Ghana's peace, a call to the Electoral Commission and national stakeholders," written to the Commission.
