The National Coordinator of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), Albert Arhin, has called for the trial and prosecution of individuals involved in the alleged food distribution by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Alhassan, during the special voting exercise.

Speaking in an interview with Channel One News, Arhin argued that not only should those who distributed the food be held accountable, but voters who accepted the alleged packages should also face consequences for their actions.

He suggested that the Office of the Special Prosecutor should take up the case, emphasising that the alleged act, known as "treating" in electoral parlance, constitutes an electoral offence punishable by law. "It is an offence that has been committed and there should be some form of trial.

But of course, this shouldn't prevent the election from going on the 7th.
