The Faidhatu Tijaniyya Ibrahimiyya Council of Ghana has called on Ghanaians particularly, the Muslim community to ensure that the peace of the country was safeguarded ahead of the presidential and parliamentary election to be held on Saturday.
It has also urged electoral management bodies, including the Electoral Commission (EC) and the security services to ensure that the electioneering process was transparent and fair as well as the protection of electorates from violent acts.
The Council made the call in a statement issued by its chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Habib Alhassan Shaban and copied The Ghanaian Times yesterday.
Furthermore, it advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used or influenced by political leaders to toe the path of violence or to foment trouble during the election. "The youth are the future of the nation, and their participation should reflect the values of peace, unity, and positive change.
