The Vice Presidential Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), , has revealed plans to establish local industries to produce dialysis consumables and reagents.

This initiative, aimed at reducing the cost of kidney disease treatment in Ghana, is part of the NPP's broader strategy to enhance healthcare delivery.

Speaking during a visit to the Renal Department of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Region, Dr.

Prempeh stated that the government is already engaging companies that manufacture dialysis-related products to explore potential partnerships. "The establishment of these industries will not only make dialysis treatment more affordable but will also create jobs and position Ghana as a hub for the production of medical consumables," Dr.
