Former Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo has endorsed the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)'s recommendation for a forensic audit of the National Cathedral project and the potential prosecution of its Board of Trustees.
Speaking at a public forum on "Curbing Illicit Financial Flows Through Accountable Governance: The Role of Media," Domelevo emphasized the importance of fighting corruption and urged media professionals to continue exposing malfeasance in governance, including the controversies surrounding the National Cathedral.
He expressed agreement with CHRAJ's recent report, which proposed involving the Auditor-General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to deepen investigations.
Domelevo referenced Article 281(e) of the Ghanaian Constitution, which empowers CHRAJ to forward cases to the Auditor-General for further review. "We need to fight corruption in that light, I think the media must continue exposing the corruption in the system like the Cathedral I talked about and I would like to support the position of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice. "In their report, they recommended that the Auditor-General and the OSP come and take the battle from where they have reached and continue.
