The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has filed a formal criminal complaint against Lydia Seyram Alhassan, incumbent MP for the constituency with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
His complaint follows the alleged sharing of food by Lydia Seyram Alhassan, during the special voting exercise which took place on Monday, December 2.
The incident, which occurred at the Legon Police Station polling centre, sparked public debate about voter influence and electoral ethics, as the MP was seen handing out food packages to individuals in the voting queue.
Dumleo who criticised the MP for her action in a Facebook post called on the OSP to take immediate steps to bring the MP to book and prevent her from repeating her action. "This afternoon [December 3] at about 1:00 pm, my team filed a formal criminal complaint against MS.
