Chairman of NDC Manifesto Committee on Employment and Job Creation, Augustus Goosie Tanoh has said the next NDC government will clamp down on corruption and its related activities.
Speaking in an interview on TV3's Hot Issues on December 1 2024, Goosie Tanoh emphasized the need for an end to public procurement breaches and corruption in the public sector.
He reiterated John Mahama's commitment to fight the canker in the country's governance system. "Mahama has said that he is going to be an anti-corruption President and that is fundamental and important because nobody is going to put money into your pocket as a country if you don't deal with corruption," he stated.
He noted that the NDC government will engage authorized organisations like EOCO and others to investigate acts of corruption under the Akufo-Addo administration and prosecute officials based on evidence not as an act of witch-hunting. "Tracing illegal movement of monies, whether you put it into Swiss Island or the Cayman Island or South Africa or France, it is possible to trace and we have organizations which have the capacity so it is not impossible. "The important thing is that it should not be witch-hunting and should be based on law, evidence and basically to rectify," he added.
