Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for its poor performance in the Ashanti Region.

He was addressing NDC party faithful at the "Enti Asanteman Aseda Ni" walk in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region John Mahama cited the government's failure to operationalise the Afari Military Hospital which he believes when functional, would help alleviate the burden and overcrowding at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Mahama also accused the Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr.

Mahamadu Bawumia, of frequently visiting the region out of fear of losing support, suggesting it reflects the party's declining influence in the area. "We saw the need to establish a military hospital here in Kumasi thus we commenced the Afari Military Hospital project.
