Former Minister of Environment, Science & Technology Prof.

Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has raised concerns about the impact of illegal small-scale mining (Galamsey) on food production.

His view is that an unimaginable hunger is imminent in Ghana due to the destruction of farmlands by the galamsyers. "The hunger that will befall us in the future is unimaginable.

Illegal miners are destroying all our pipelines and biodiversity and nobody cares," he said on the Key Ponts on TV3 Saturday, November 30.
