The Deputy Director of Research at the Electoral Commission (EC), Fred Tetteh, has assured the public that the EC remains committed to delivering credible elections despite recent challenges, including reports of ballot paper shortages in five constituencies in the Volta Region and a broken seal on electoral materials in the Eastern Region.
Speaking on The Big Issue on Saturday, November 30, 2024, Mr Tetteh acknowledged the concerns but emphasized that the EC, as a human institution, is not immune to errors.
He explained that such anomalies are not new, noting that occasional errors have occurred during the EC's preparations in the past.
However, he suggested that the intense scrutiny from the media in recent times has amplified the perception of these issues.
