A very important step towards the December 7, 2024, general elections was taken on Thursday, November 28, 2024, when the presidential candidates in the election signed a peace pact.

All the 12 presidential candidates for the pending election or their representatives signed an agreement to commit to maintaining peace before, during, and after the polls.

Present at the peace pact signing ceremony, which was organised by the National Peace Council, in collaboration with the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), were the presidential candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), ; of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); Dr Hassan Ayariga of the All Peoples Congress (APC); and Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberty Party of Ghana (LPG), among others.

Also present at the event were important stakeholders of the 2024 election, including the Electoral Commissioner , Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare, and Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
