Hassan Ayariga, the presidential candidate for the People's National Convention (PNC), has emphasised the importance of resolving the ongoing conflict in Bawku to safeguard the country's peace before, during and after the December polls.

Speaking at the peace pact signing event in Accra on Thursday, November 28, Ayariga highlighted the urgent need to address the violence that has plagued Bawku for years now. "For the past three years, Bawku has been in war till date as I speak to you, shooting all over, and we have ignored that [and] we are here talking about peace.

I wish we had a forum like this to talk about Bawku's matter and help resolve the issue of Bawku's challenges," Ayariga stated.

He appealed to stakeholders to focus on resolving the Bawku conflict, stressing that achieving peace in the region is crucial for a smooth electoral process.
