Sudan's assistant coach, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has made no secret about his desire to manage Ghana's national side, saying "he can coach the Black Stars." Ignatius is the assistant coach of the Sudanese national team, where he aids former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah as his right-hand man.
Ignatius has been working as an assistant to Kwesi Appiah in Sudan since Appiah was appointed as manager of the Sudan team in September 2023.
Ignatius was in the dugout when Sudan beat Ghana 2-0 in Libya to dent the Black Stars' 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying hopes and put Sudan in contention for progressing to the tournament.
Sudan finally sealed their place in the tournament after finishing second in Group F ahead of Ghana and Niger.
