Former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has been named head coach of Coventry City on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 46-year-old takes over with the Sky Blues sitting 17th in the Championship, just two points above the relegation zone.

Lampard replaces Mark Robins, who was dismissed earlier this month after a seven-year tenure.

This marks the first managerial appointment by club owner Doug King since acquiring Coventry City in January 2023.
