Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe has voiced his strong disapproval of the decision by Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare to release Oheneba Nana Asiedu, the Wontumi FM presenter who had been detained for spreading false information in breach of Section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
In a candid discussion on Okay FM, Tamakloe expressed his belief that there is no justifiable reason for allowing Asiedu to evade the serious consequences of his actions. "What example are we setting here?
A person spreads lies that undermine the fabric of our society, and instead of facing the law, he is set free.
This is not how justice is supposed to work," Tamakloe remarked.
