Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the (NPP), has asked Muslims to support Dr Bawumia to become the first Muslim President in Ghana since 1957.
He made the call at Challu in the Sissala East Municipality during a campaign tour of the area.
He said the issue about this year's election would be that from 1957 to now, only Christians had governed the country. "This year, the history will be that we Christians feel that it is time for a Muslim to become the President of Ghana because we are all one people. "If Allah is there for all of us, then it's time for a Muslim to lead Ghana.
It is the reason why we, the NPP, elected a Muslim to lead the NPP party," he said.
