Council of State member, Sam Okudzeto, has urged Ghanaians to shun voter apathy ahead of the upcoming general elections, warning that refusing to vote could result in the election of leaders who might not truly represent the will of the people.

He spoke during an interview on the sidelines of the National Blood Donation Day launch in Accra on November 25.

Voter turnout is a crucial gauge of a democracy's health which determines the level of confidence the citizenry has in political institutions and leaders.

In Ghana, voter apathy during elections has been a persistent issue, and many polls have projected an intense level of voter apathy likely to characterize the upcoming December elections.
