The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) in the Bono East Region has intercepted a Kia Rhino truck carrying a large consignment of food items allegedly intended for distribution under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).

The vehicle, with registration number AS 9584-14, was found transporting 56 bags of 50-kilogram 'Lucy' branded rice meant for Jema Senior High School in the Kintampo South District and Kintampo Senior High School in the Kintampo North Municipality.

According to sources, the truck driver has been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the diversion of the food supplies.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
