The Electoral Commission (EC) has urged the public to disregard claims circulating on social media that voters should cast their ballots for presidential candidates on separate days during the upcoming December general elections.

The EC emphasised that these statements are false and have the potential to disrupt public peace.

The disinformation was allegedly spread by Kumasi-based radio and television presenter Oheneba Nana Asiedu, who was recently arrested and granted bail by the Ghana Police Service.

Asiedu faces charges of publishing false news after encouraging voters to cast their ballots on different days.
