The Minister of Internal Affairs of Sierra Leone Major General David Taluvu (rtd) says the quality of the Ghana Police Service has become the standard in Policing in Africa. According to him, other African countries including Sierra Leone are willing to learn from the innovation and practical leadership that has been in charge of the transformation happening in the Police service in recent years. Speaking at the Police headquarters in Accra Monday, August 12, 2024, the minister who led a delegation of senior police officers including the Sierra Leonean IGP to Ghana said they are here to learn from their Ghanaian counterparts. "Everyone on the continent testifies to the high standards of the Ghana Police Service under your leadership. The Ghana Police Service has become the standard for the rest of us on the continent," the minister said. He further noted, "We marvelled at how the Ghana Police has successfully transformed from a force into a service that has effectively integrated itself among the citizenry." He stressed he and his team comprising IGP William Fayia Sellu, Deputy Minister of Justice Alpha Sesay among other top officials are here to compare notes with their Ghanaian counterparts.
