David Asamoah, the acting managing director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has announced that independent power producer (IPP) Sunon Asogli will soon resume operations after a temporary halt due to unpaid debts.
Speaking on JoyNews' Newsfile, Mr Asamoah confirmed that negotiations to resolve the issue are almost complete, and the power producer is set to return in the coming weeks. "Sunon Asogli has gone off because of debts.
But the good news about Sunon Asogli is that they are going to be back in the coming weeks because we have almost resolved the issue that made them go off," Asamoah explained.
